A proper introduction

It occurred to me that in a few short weeks, we may be sharing with you pictures of our baby’s bits. And that seems, well, rather forward for a first meeting, wouldn’t you say?

So, in the interest of future social appropriateness, meet Baby Halekas...

8 weeks, 5 days:

Cute, right?

11 weeks, 5 days:

I know what you're thinking. And it's okay... You're probably noticing what we did. The baby kind of got less cute over those three weeks, am I right? Apparently this is COMPLETELY NORMAL. Our baby started to grow its bones during those weeks. (Hence the Skeletor vibe.) And it also grew an enormously large head in which to house its giant Halekas brain. (Hence the alien vibe.) As I said, COMPLETELY NORMAL.

  1. Good morning, baby Halekas! How amazing to see you growing from a tadpole to a blur! Really. Next I expect to hear that you are the size or a baked potato, or would it be that you are looking like a baked potato from all that your mom has eaten? Good thing your dad won't be away too long or you might start looking like a grilled cheese sandwich.

I think you and your mom are going to be the best dressed duo around. Even your dad is shopping for you, and I can barely resist the baby clothes when I'm at a store. I found myself cooing over the sweetest little shoes and telling total strangers about you. Luckily for me, they also have babies on the way so understood perfectly.

    love from one grandma
